Affiliate Marketing Goals 2010
Posted on February 9, 2010 by Amit
Setting goals on paper is a great motivation for anyone. When you put something down in writing you start believing in it. It seems real, urgent and doable.
Here are some of the things I will like to achieve this year.
1. More Traffic
No affiliate marketer can succeed without traffic. So why not a have a lot of it.
Some affiliates build short term sites, sites to cater to a single CPA offer. They run ad campaigns(mostly ppc) to make money from the offer, and depending on the success or failure of the campaign and the longevity of the offer, the websites lives for a few months or may be a year. After that the domain name lives in the domain junkyards.
I try to build sites that can live longer. And when I do PPC to drive traffic when the site is in its infancy, I also build content around the same keywords that I am bidding on for the longer term. This way I hope to end up with sites that can live and make money organically later when ppc isn’t viable anymore.
My Goal this year is to increase the combined page views among all my affiliate sites to 1,000,000. This is not just for one site but a group of my affiliate sites. This includes both paid and unpaid traffic.
2. More Sites
I have a few domains and a few sites that are highly under developed. They hardly do anything for me, no traffic, no income, no link juice. I want to take five such sites that are in a limbo and turn them around. Reviving these sites will also help me achieve my goal #1.
3. Now the Money Part
No affiliate marketing goal is complete without a financial goal. My goal this year is to break the 6 figure glass ceiling from my affiliate income, not revenue but profit. Being a part time affiliate and having only 24 hours a day may sometimes seem limiting. But I am sure there are many part time affiliates like me who bring in 100k+ from their affiliate income. Its doable.
My Strategies
There has to be a strategy to achieve it. So what is mine. It will be a combination, but the basics are simple. Stay focused, experiment more, and fail faster.
About traffic, I will be using some additional paid sources to drive more traffic to my sites. Plus a rigorous content generation to keep the sites humming. I will be outsourcing some of my content generation efforts. Reviving the old sites will take precedence over building new sites. Social marketing including twitter, facebook and now googlebuzz will be staple now.
From time to time I will post my successes and failures here. If you want to stay connected and see how I am doing subscribe to my blog feed or follow me on twitter @amit400
